Chernow, Burt. Christo and Jeanne-Claude: A Biography. New York: St. Martin’s Press, 2002.
In depth and informative biography on the artists’ lives and works. Written in cooperation with the artists, with an epilogue by their long time photographer Wolfgang Volz. Excellent source for personal detail and extensive knowledge of works.
Donovan, Molly. Christo and Jeanne-Claude in the Vogel Collection. New York: Harry N. Adams, 2002.
Good overview of the artists’ accomplishments including earlier works. Specializes in the Vogel collection displayed at the National Gallery of Art. It contains numerous color photographs.

Announcing that the Gates Project is approved. Cites much opposition from skeptics, both local and from surrounding areas. Adding to the skeptical tone is the inclusion of many environmental concerns regarding this project.
Galloway, David. “Packaging the Past: Wrapped Reichstag by Christo and Jeanne-Claude.” Art in America 83 (November 1995): 86-90.
It contains a very descriptive depiction of the Wrapped Reichstag project. Includes a personal account of experience and description of events held during exhibit. Excellent color photographs.
Miller, Donald. “Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Eckert Fine Art: Exhibit.” Art News 102 (April 2003): 130-131.
Compiles conceptual drawings for the Gates Project. Keeping with the high amounts of detail of Christo’s concept art, all reproductions are in color. Despite being a brief article, it is very informative and reproductions are of high quality.
Tansini, Laura. “Inside the Gates.” Art on Paper 7 (April 2003): 40-45.
Inclusion of high quality concept art, interview, and photo reproductions of final works make this article a very fine resource. Polling information from a number of different pieces, as well as actual accounts from the artists creates an extensive and informative work. It is long, but well worth the read.
“The Wrapping Wrap-up: Wrapping of the Reichstag Building, Berlin.” Art News 94 (September 1995): 37.
States briefly the specific statistics of the Wrapped Reichstag Project. Includes building size, work force, and cost. A good view of exactly the amount of work involved in a large-scale project.

Addressing the requests of the artists to begin work on the Gates Project, this article details the approval by the New York mayor. Announcing the project’s approval for two weeks in February 2005, the articles tone was more official than artistic. Adding a more common view on the art, this is a very good resource.
